Research Essay
The research essay is the opportunity to present a substantial piece of writing which embodies the results of original research. The essay is expected to be about 12,000-15,000 words in length. It should demonstrate your ability to assemble research findings and present them logically and clearly, with appropriate referencing, examples, and illustrations, etc. It should also demonstrate your independence as a researcher and may be considered as preparation for thesis writing at Masters level. The research essay may be based on work undertaken in another course, possibly MUSI461 or MUSI465, thus producing a 'unit' of two courses within the Honours year.
