Primary source study 01 Jun 2012 10% A summary of primary sources relevant to your topic. A critique of the key ones leading to a summary of how your project follows on from them. Indicative length: 2000 words
Research Data 03 Sep 2012 10% A research report which includes qualitative and/or quantitive data collected and an anlysis of this data as related to your research objectives.
Seminar 12 Sep 2012 10% A 15 minute presentation on your research project. Assessment is based mainly on the quality of presentation in relation to the content.
Research Study 30 Sep 2012 60% An independently-researched study on an agreed topic (with the course coordinator) which may include material from any of the previous assignments.

Assessment and grading system

A+  90–100;    A   85–89;    A-  80–84;    B+   75–79;    B 70–74;    B-   65–69;     C+  60–64;     C  55–59;     C- 50–54;     D  40–49;   E  0–39
In a course at 100- or 200-level examiners may grant restricted credit (R) which will be equivalent to a pass for all purposes except as a prerequisite.
