Assessment
The ability to perform fluent and highly accurate performances, sometimes in leadership and soloist capacities, of 2-3 selected programmes of music demonstrating secure techniques and convincing ensemble awareness and presentation skills.
ATTENDANCE
A pass in these courses requires satisfactory attendance. It is difficult to define satisfactory attendance as the important criterion is commitment to the group and commitment to rehearsals and performances by the group. Ideally, the only worthwhile commitment is 100% as it is not possible for the best performance by the group without such commitment. Candidates are expected to attend every rehearsal unless illness or any other critical circumstance prevents attendance: notice of absence must be given to the group director before the rehearsal(s): illness must be accompanied by a medical certificate, and other reasons for absence must satisfy the director before they are acceptable. Pass or fail in this course will be determined by the course coordinator according to his/her professional judgement and will be based on the quality of the contribution made by each candidate as reported by the group's director.
Assessment will be PASS or FAIL based on the criteria noted above.
