• reducing a full score orchestral chord to a major/minor triad or 7th

Textbooks / Resources

No set texts, but plenty for reference in School of Music and Central library.
Worksheets for the weekly classes will be provided as handouts.

Notes

It is essential to have an A4 loose-leaf folder to file the worksheets for keyboard.  It should have a hard cover and be able to stay open flat whilst positioned vertically on the keyboard music desk (like a music score).

WORKLOAD
As usual this depends on students’ existing abilities. Those who have taken MUSI 171 and 172 will already have done some aural and keyboard work, but there are some new skills to be mastered in this course.
As a guide, in preparation for each week’s class you should budget time to:
 1. prepare the given keyboard score, and score for error identification and correction
 2. practise the other aural skills
Typically this could require 2-3 hours work per week in addition to the two class hours.
