This course examines how organisations manage risk and eSecurity associated with their information systems. Topics include management, analysis and application of secure e-Business systems including security policy and network management.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course the student should be able to:
*  Have an understanding of the role and impact of IS risk and security management in modern firms.
*  Design and apply key security and data management concepts, components, technologies and selection criteria associated with the use of IS in the modern firm.
*  Develop an information security and disaster recovery policy.
*  Discuss key issues associated with managing IS in the modern firm, including the security and ethical problems they pose.

Prerequisites

(1) 15 points from INFO233, INFO253, INFO263, COSC231, COSC264; and (2) An additional 15 points at 200 level from the Commerce Schedule or SENG
