Early Intervention Foundations
Description
This course provides an introduction to theory and research on Early Intervention and its application in service provision and issues in New Zealand. Students will be able to select from practical work completed at an individually arranged practicum site or to conduct a literature review in an individually arranged topic for the major piece of assessed work. A current police check is required for those choosing the practicum placement. HLTH 420 will share some sessions with the new course EDST 631. Students with an existing qualification in early childhood teaching should enrol in EDST 631, if eligible. Students with a qualification in other subjects should enrol in HLTH 420 after a discussion with the course coordinator.
