Description

High Frequency Switching Converters, Multi-switch forward converters, Converter Modelling and Control, HF magnetics design, Snubbers, EMI and Thermal management, Semiconductor switch properties, resonant converters, induction machine properties, drives, starters and control, multi-level converters.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course you should have a thorough understanding of modern power electronic circuit design, including circuit analysis, practical layout, thermal issues and EMC. You should have an appreciation of low power and high power circuit requirements, as well as an understanding of some aspects of modelling and control.
