Additional Course Outline Information
All forms of cheating and dishonest practice are taken seriously and penalties will result. Students should refer to Regulation J of the General Course and Examination Regulations.
Both lecturers in the course mark half the assignments each. The course coordinator internally moderates as part of the marking process, in order to ensure equitability and transparency of marking. The portfolios are externally moderated via examiners meetings held within the Department of ESHD.

Attendance is required at all sessions.
Formal and informal evaluation will take place in accordance with the relevant Course Evaluation Policy, to provide feedback to teaching staff about the relevance and validity of what has been learned as well as the quality of course delivery.
The College undertakes a process of internal and external moderation of assessment. This is to ensure the assessment system is fair, equitable, consistent and manageable. Copies of assignments may be returned for moderation purposes where this occurs. All identifying information is removed.
Assignments submitted after the due date will not be marked.

You are required to use APA referencing in all pieces of course assessment.
Under exceptional circumstances (e.g. illness, accident, bereavement or critical personal circumstances) individual students may be granted an extension of the due date for an assignment.
You must email the course coordinator five working days before the due date to initiate your request for an extension.
If you apply for an extension, you will be asked to supply a medical certificate or other relevant evidence of special circumstances (e.g. A letter from a counsellor).
Extensions are not granted automatically to students.
Resubmissions are not permitted.
Assignment boxes either end of the foyer, at the College of Education office in Orakipaoa, Dovedale Campus.
