Research and Publications - Accounting and Information Systems
Accountability, tax, audit, knowledge management, commercial law, sustainability, bookkeeping, financial reporting, information systems, strategy implementation and accounting are among the wide range of ideas and topics about which research is being conducted by individuals and teams associated with the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, often in collaboration with researchers from other universities worldwide and with people in industry, commerce, government, and social enterprises and NGOs. This research not only informs teaching, it is often a part of student learning, and postgraduate students in particular regularly are part of inquiries and projects. It also leads to publications in various academic, professional and popular forms; and to papers given at academic conferences in NZ and further afield, and to public lectures and similar events in Christchurch and Canterbury province.
The Erskine Fellowships are used to bring distinguished visitors from around the world to University of Canterbury. The Department has up to five Erskine visitors each year.
