Business Bootcamp

UC Business Bootcamp is a new and exciting initiative that the UC Business School are running to show interested year 12-13 students what UC and our local business community has to offer. The Bootcamp is three action packed days during the term 2 holidays, students will be given a business challenge and the opportunity to see Christchurch businesses in action. 

The Business Bootcamp times are as follows:

  • Monday 9 July: 9am - 3.30pm
  • Tuesday 10 July: 9am - 3.30pm
  • Wednesday 11 July: 9am - 6pm. Concluding with a final event Whānau are also invited to attend the final event from 4pm – 6pm.

What will I do each day?

Day 1:

Your day starts at 9am with an introduction to UC, the UC Business School, and a special entrepreneurial lecture. During this time you will get to know the other students attending the event and discover the exciting things happening with UC's young entrepreneurs.

After lunch, you will begin the Challenge. The Challenge is where you will work in teams to develop your own business venture or idea over the three days. This is where your creative thinking and innovation can really shine. You and your team could be in to win some great prizes! 

Day 2 and 3:

During Days 2 and 3 we will head into the city and see UC alumni and budding entrepreneurs in action. We will visit a range of businesses and organisations, where you will hear from people who are doing business in new and inventive ways. This is your chance to ask questions about their enterprises!

The afternoons will be spent developing your business venture further with the help of expert mentors and academics. You will also prepare for the team presentations on the final day. 

Final day: From 4pm on Day 3 you will present your business venture ideas to a panel of judges and the winning team(s) come out with some great prizes.
