The PGDipBus programme is our most flexible qualification, allowing you to increase your skill base in a wide range of business functions. The programme draws on courses from across our suite of Business Master's programmes, giving you a breadth of options for career progression and further study.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Business consists of eight elective courses. These courses constitute any eight courses from the required courses for the MBM, MFM and MPA programmes.

You can tailor your study to subjects that are of personal interest and reflect your strengths. You can undergo a diverse or concentrated programme of study, depending on your unique career and study goals.

The PGDipBus programme will allow you to work across multiple business functions and a variety of industries. By gaining a PGDipBus you can expect to:

  • Be prepared for entry level business roles in both public and private sectors including business analyst, management consultant, and project manager.
  • Find business roles in areas reflective of your undergraduate studies or areas of previous employment.

Our Postgraduate Diploma in Business is ideal for recent graduates who want to increase their employability. The programme is also an excellent choice for professionals seeking to diversify their skills in business, finance and/or accounting. PGDipBus participants are typically:

  • Graduates from any undergraduate discipline

Having satisfied all requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma with a B average or above, prior to graduating, you can apply to transfer to the MBM, MFM, or MPA.

1. Business Management (PGDipBus to MBM)

Part-time the Business Management (PGDipBus to MBM) will take up to 4 years and at full-time study, it will take 12-14 months.

If you are intending to progress to the MBM it is recommended that you select your 8 courses for the PGDipBus from those outlined in Column 1 above.

2. Financial Management (PGDipBus to MFM)

Part-time the Financial Management (PGDipBus to MFM) will take up to 4 years and at full-time study it will take 12-14 months.

If you are intending to progress to the MFM it is recommended that you select your 8 courses for the PGDipBus from those outlined in Column 2 above.

3. Professional Accounting (PGDipBus to MPA)

Part-time the Professional Accounting (PGDipBus to MPA) will take up to 4 years and at full-time study it will take 15-17 months.

If you are intending to progress to the MPA it is recommended that you select your eight courses for the PGDipBus from those outlined in Column 3 above.

*In consultation, a personal course of study that differs from that outlined above can be completed, subject to the approval of the Dean of Commerce.
