Nodin de Saillan (USA)
Nodin de Saillan is currently a doctoral student in the Department of English at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Nodin earned his MA from CU-Boulder, his BA from Warren Wilson College, and a BA-Honours from the University of Canterbury. Nodin’s research interests include Early modern studies, animality studies, ecocriticism, and neomaterialism. He is particularly interested by those non-human animals that enter into the domestic sphere without direct human control, which become known as vermin and are a source of great anxiety for the home as well as for the body. He is greatly interested in how the particular relationship between humans and nonhuman animals, labeled as vermin, complicates dualistic views of a separation between humans and the nonhuman world during the Early modern period.
