School Activities
In addition to the regular programme of school visits, information days and careers expos organised by the Liaison Office, Departments also have a broad range of links and projects with schools.
Outreach
The University of Canterbury supports a strong school and community Outreach programme, particularly in the College of Science. For information on Outreach activities please go to:

Extension Programme for Secondary School Students - STAR
The University of Canterbury offers a range of courses for secondary school students. School students attend lectures, labs and tutorials and undertake course assessment. Courses that are successfully completed are credited towards the student's degree when they subsequently enrol at Canterbury.
The courses provide a challenging and stimulating option for more able secondary school students. Students are put forward by their school and can enrol in a maximum of 36 points in any one year. Access STAR at UC for further information.
UC Partnership with Schools
The College of Education is keen to advance partnerships with selected schools to jointly enhance the development of future generations of teachers and to strengthen and enhance relationships amongst educators who are committed to reflective practice and ongoing professional renewal. Golden Key Honour Society
The University of Canterbury Chapter of the Golden Key Honour Society holds an annual Youth Forum for students from local secondary schools.
