Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Eamon Molloy Memorial Scholarship was established by Asian alumni in memory of Eamon Mark Paul Molloy QSM. Eamon Molloy touched the lives of many overseas students at the University of Canterbury from the 1960's onwards, acting as a guardian for many, overseeing their welfare in Christchurch, setting up orientation programmes and advising and supporting the students.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a student from Asia at UC.

Emerging Leader Enrolment Scholarships

These scholarships recognise high academic achievement, as well as leadership potential and sporting, cultural and community involvement. Scholarships attract some of the brightest students to UC, enabling them to attend university regardless of their financial circumstances.

The Page General Fund

This fund was established by alumnus Sally Page to support the University of Canterbury. This is an endowed fund that other donors can add to with the annual interest being disbursed to the areas of greatest need.

Each year the University of Canterbury and Trustees of the University of Canterbury Foundation agree how these funds can have the biggest impact in support of students, staff, our community, research, buildings and equipment.

Graham Whyte Fund

The Graham Whyte Fund was established by the University of Canterbury Foundation in memory of the late Dr Graham Whyte. Graham was a specialist in forest management systems, forest planning and production forecasting.

He was a graduate of Aberdeen and Oxford Universities and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Foresty and a recipient of the Institute's Thomas Kirk Award in 2000. Graham was the first appointment made to the newly established School of Forestry at the University of Canterbury in 1981 and became Head of School in 1992.

The purpose of this fund is to provide a prize, awarded annually, to the best performing postgraduate student after one year of studies.

Malaysian Alumni Scholarship Fund

The Malaysian Alumni Scholarship was established by alumni living in Malaysia and New Zealand. The scholarship recognises the past education links between Malaysia and New Zealand under the Colombo Plan which saw many Malaysians being given the opportunity to study at the University of Canterbury.

The aim of the scholarship is to carry on that tradition and support a new generation of Malaysian students in their study at UC.  The scholarship is awarded annually to a Malaysian student at UC.

Park and Paulay Earthquake Engineering Fund

The Park and Paulay Earthquake Engineering Fund was established to honour the groundbreaking work of Professor Bob Park (1933-2004) and Professor Tom Paulay (1922-2009).

These two world-class academics and researchers in UC’s Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering made significant contributions in the fields of structural and earthquake engineering.

Sports Scholarship Fund

The Sports Scholarships will allow elite sports men and women to be supported to pursue their athletic goals while also pursuing a degree at the University of Canterbury. Each recipient will have their fees covered and be an elite member of the Athlete Development Programme.
