Cambridge Alumni & Friends - 9 May 2017

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Ian Wright, along with Mr Jeff Field, Registrar and Mrs Jo Dowling, Director of Alumni & UC Foundation, would like to invite you to a University of Canterbury reception in Cambridge.

The University of Canterbury team will update you on the latest news at the University, and it will be a great chance to catch up with fellow alumni and friends of the University of Canterbury living and working in the Cambridge area.

Oxford Alumni & Friends - 10 May 2017

London Alumni Function - 11 May 2017

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Wright would like to invite you to a University of Canterbury alumni function in London. This will be a great opportunity to network with UC staff and fellow alumni living in your city, and Professor Wright will update you on the latest developments on campus.

Guest speaker: UC alumnus Andrew Roy, Foreign Editor of BBC World News will be our guest speaker for the evening, Andrew will talk on his time as a student at UC and his current role at the BBC.

Wellington Alumni Function - 11 May 2017

Come along to the next Wellington Chapter Function with guest speaker Judge Arthur Tompkins.

When: Thursday 11 May 2017
Time: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Where: The Wellington Club, Kumutoto Room, sixth floor, 88 The Terrace, Wellington
Cost: $25 per person, refreshments will be provided.

: Judge Arthur Tompkins

Judge Arthur Tompkins is a New Zealand District Court Judge, Panel Convenor of the New Zealand Parole Board and Judge of the Supreme Court of Pitcairn Island. He has first class honours degrees in Law from the University of Canterbury and the University of Cambridge.

Away from ‘the bench’ his specialist fields of interest are ‘Art Crime’ and ‘Art in War’, he regularly lectures on these topics within New Zealand and overseas which will be the focus of his talk. Join fellow Alumni for what is sure to be a fascinating presentation.

Crusaders vs Hurricanes pre-match event - 13 May 2017

As alumni of UC we welcome you to join our pre-match function before the Crusaders vs Hurricanes game on Saturday 13 May 2017. Come along and catch up with fellow alumni over a buffet dinner, then head over to the stadium to enjoy the game. 

Guest speaker Hamish Riach, Crusaders CEO, will give a talk about his experience with the Crusaders, and will run a short Q & A with some of the players. 

Your ticket for this event includes a silver covered seat to the game.

When: Saturday 13 May 2017
5.15pm – Doors open
5.45pm – Buffet
6.45pm – Guest speaker, Hamish Riach
7.00pm onwards – Head across to the stadium at your convenience

Where: The Lady blossom Lounge, Level 3, Metropolitan stand – Addington Raceway
Cost: $50 (includes dinner and a covered silver ticket to the Crusaders vs Hurricanes game)

Auckland Alumni function - 18 May 2017

Professor Sonia Mazey, Pro-Vice Chancellor College of Business and Law, would like to invite you to a University of Canterbury alumni function in Auckland. This will be a great opportunity to network with UC Staff and fellow alumni living in Auckland.

Guest Speaker: Professor Rachel Wright, Operations Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship, will give a talk about her role and the support the Centre provides for students. The UC Centre for Entrepreneurship (UCE) is a student-focused space where ideas and innovation can flourish, stimulating the development of entrepreneurs through a combination of research, teaching and community engagement. Professor Wright will be joined by one of her enterprising students to showcase recent successes.
