Admissions and Entry

Admissions and Entry

How to apply

As part of your Application to Enrol, UC will ask for your university entrance qualification. Some admission categories also require an application before you apply to enrol. Please refer to individual admission for details.

From Semester 1 2012, students applying for admission will need to satisfy UC Preferential Entry requirements as well as NZ University Entrance. Students not meeting the requirements for Preferential Entry will be offered places subject to priority and availability.

If your qualification is not from New Zealand university, you will need to apply for Admission Ad Eundem Statum. This also applies to qualifications from New Zealand polytechnic or college. You can apply for admission online. (If you cannot apply online, please see our forms page for forms which can be printed off and sent to us by post or courier.)

When should I apply?

Refer to Key Course Dates for last date to apply to enrol. Please also refer to individual admission as it may have earlier application date.

Most domestic undergraduate first-year students must apply to enrol by 10 December 2011. Other dates apply for College of Education students.

Students applying for Admission Ad Eundem Statum should apply as early as possible to give maximum preparation time to obtain student visa, and complete accommodation and travel arrangements. We recommend that you apply before 1 November for Semester One (February start) and before 1 May for Semester Two (July).

How long will my application take to be processed?

Processing times depend on the type of admission, the programme applied for, and whether information has been provided. UC will contact you if additional documents are required for your application. Please keep to the individual admission application date to avoid late acceptance.
