Information for Couples or Students with Families

Sonoda Christchurch Campus has a small number of self-contained one bedroom flats suitable for couples only.

University Hall also have a limited number of self-contained apartments for couples or students with families.

Please Note: Family accommodation is currently fully-booked, however, a waitlist form is available from the Accommodation Office.

If couples/family accommodation is not available on campus, you will need to find private rental accommodation after you first arrive in Christchurch.

It is not advisable to sign a rental agreement/contract before viewing the property personally, therefore, you will need to arrange temporary accommodation (eg, backpackers or motel) on arrival in Christchurch. It is recommended that you budget for up to two weeks temporary accommodation to enable you time to find a rental property that you will be happy in.
