2013 Fees and Contract Start Dates

Fees for the 2013 academic year are indicated below.

  • Fully-Catered Halls of Residence (3 meals a day provided) - University Hall (Ritz and Retro buildings),
    Bishop Julius Hall and Rochester and Rutherford Hall will consider new applications for a waitlist place.
  • Semi-Catered (dinners provided) - University Hall (Connon) - Waitlist places only
  • Self-Catered Apartments (meal plans available) - Waitlist places only
  • All fees quoted are a per person rate, are expressed in NZ dollar values and include Goods and Services Tax (GST). Fees include power and local telephone calls.
  • A Student Allowance or Loan through StudyLink may assist with your accommodation costs, but please note that you will be required to pay your deposit and first instalment from your own savings. Your first instalment can be up to 40% of your total fees.

Tutorial Assistance

* Bed linen pack consists of 2 bed sheets, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 duvet inner, 1 duvet cover.
** Meals plans are available at University Hall in 2013.

(1) Contingency Fee/Deposit - This is a payment made at the start of the year, in case of possible loss/damage of hall property. The balance is refunded at the end of the year or carried over to the following year if the students are returning.

(2) Admin/Enrolment Fee - This fee is non-refundable.

(3) Residents' Association Fee - This fee is used to help fund student activities such as each Hall's annual ball. What the fee covers varies from hall to hall. Some items may have to be paid for separately.

(4) Car Parking - Bishop Julius Hall, College House and Rochester & Rutherford Hall parks are allocated on a first in first served basis. University Hall, Sonoda Christchurch Campus and Ilam Apartments parks are not allocated - it is a permit to park only.
