Information for Couples or Students with Families
Halls of Residence 
Accommodation on campus for couples or students with families is fully booked for 2013.
Sonoda Christchurch Campus has a small number of self-contained one bedroom flats suitable for couples only. University Hall also have a limited number of self-contained apartments for couples or students with families. Please note that these units are in high demand. To check on availability, please email enquiries@ucastudentvillage.co.nz
Applying for on-campus accommodation well in advance is advised.
If couples/family accommodation is not available on campus, you will need to find private rental accommodation after you first arrive in Christchurch.
Private Renting
Rental properties are currently in high demand and can be expensive. Be prepared that it may take time to find a property that meets your budget that you will be happy in.
For families, in particular, you should consider coming to Christchurch on your own first until you have found a suitable property to enable your family to join you. As you should not sign up to a property without first viewing it personally, you may need to book temporary accommodation for when you first arrive in Christchurch. You need to have a base from which you can search for a suitable property. Temporary accommodation may be available on campus for individuals. An application form is available from the Accommodation Office.
