Conducting student surveys and the UC Survey Policy
Any online survey that collects information from a cohort of UC students must adhere to the UC Survey Policy (Survey Policy and Application Procedures for Online Student Surveys). Under this policy survey administrators are required to submit a completed application form to have their survey considered by the Survey Reference Group. Once approved, their survey will be added to the Student Survey Calendar. For additional information please contact the Survey Reference Group Secretary, E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Ongoing surveys are not automatically carried over into every calendar year, a new application form will need to be completed every year that the survey is to be run.
Survey applications, including the completed application form and all required documentation, must be submitted by Email to the Survey Reference Group Secretary. Do not send a hard copy by external or internal mail as we find this is not always reliable. Applicants are also reminded that the Survey Reference Group can take up to eight weeks to process your application, not including time that may be required for the refereeing process.

The UC Student Survey Calendar gives details of student surveys that are approved to run in a given calendar year.

Support from Academic Services Group
The Academic Services Group offers support in survey design and administration, including use of Qualtrics. Please contact the Academic Services Group directly. Academics who require advice on the analysis of survey data are encouraged to contact the University’s statistics consultant, Dr Elena Moltchanova, in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
It is strongly recommended that student surveys be administered through Qualtrics, the University’s survey tool.
Note: UC users should create an account using the link provided on the ICTS page. Accounts generated via the link on the Qualtrics website (trial versions) have substantial limitations around use and will not be supported by UC.
