Researcher Summary

My area of specialization is 20th and 21st century History of Ideas in Spain and in exile. My research explores what is understood by reason and rationality and it searches for alternatives to mainstream views. I am particularly interested in the experience of emigration and exile and their impact on the literary, cultural, political, and philosophical production during the period which expands from the Spanish Civil War to the Transition to democracy. I am also engaged in the analysis of film as a cultural product, in particular with regards to the representation of discourses on memory, trauma, and identity. Other interests include Critical Theory, Spirituality, Psychoanalysis, and Translation.
