Project Abstract
The kindergarten is an unique early childhood service in the New Zealand context. The aim of this project is to document and analyse the philosophies and practices of current New Zealand kindergartens from the perspective of parents, teachers and management of kindergarten associations.
The questions shaping this project are based around examining perceptions of the New Zealand Kindergarten service – is it just another of our early childhood education provisions, or is it a distinctive part of New Zealand culture and family experiences?
